hey there time for another update....
As of late I've been thinking about switching it up and doing the gym in the morning so that it frees up my nights and gives me a better start to the day by boosting my metabolism early in the day. This morning was my first time doing a morning work out and I have to say I feel pretty good :)
I'm a little frustrated because my nike+ sense didn't seem to be working right, but alas I ran anyway knowing i could just post something here and update it on my loseit app. Funny thing is technology doesn't seem to be working for me at all today in that the loseit app didn't actually update my Facebook as it should have...I guess what matters is that it's done and I'm ready to go about the rest of my day.
So this morning I ran just under an hour and was able to burn an additional 916 calories to start the day. This is awesome, but I really need to stick to eating smaller meals throughout the day versus three large meals and eating smarter in order to continue progress. Something seems to be working however, when I got on the scale yesterday I had lost almost 7 lbs since I last weight eight days before... Some may say this is too fast, but I've got some pounds to lose and I am certain that much of that was water weight and the progress will slow to a more normal pace.
Anyway, I'll take it... I am starting to notice some muscle growth in my arms too, but when all is said and done, I am feeling a lot better, my endurance is growing, and I'm excited about getting in to better health and shaping up.
That is all for now.. thanks for the support and kind words so many of you have shared. It really has been a great motivator to continue on this journey.

One month down...where did the blog go?
Ok, so a month has gone by and I haven't posted at all.. A good friend of mine asked me yesterday how the blog was coming and I had to own up to the fact that while I have been hitting the gym ( save a break for about 10 days) I haven't kept up with the blog at all.. I need to do better.
So this week I've resolved to post at least every other day with updates and progress. I need to do this to keep transparent with my plan, progress, and setbacks... I'm happy that at least this time keeping up with the gym has not been the issue.. but in choosing to make this public, I have to commit to this as well... so here we go again. Gym tonight after work... and then hopefully will be making the transition to early gym time before work. I think this will be a better start to the day and will help my metabolism to keep burning. It will also help me to free up my evenings to hang with friends, or to do whatever it is I want to do, even if it is to go for another run. Thanks for all of your support.. Time to keep truckin...

So here we go...
After much time and preparation (others may call it procrastination) I've develide dto take control of my life, and my health and do something about it. My family has a very strong history of heart disease and I really don't need to help genetics any more than should come natural so I'm goin g to do the wrok to help counter my inheritance.
I've started going to the gym every day and watching calorie intake as a means of getting my weight down. My goal is to get down to 240-250... I think that's manageable for a guy who is 6'5". I really am most concerned with being health, being beefy, and losing some of teh flab i seem to have owrked so ghard to find... I know it's going to take time, but I want to do this for me.. so here goes.
Ihaven't taken teh time to do measurements just yet, but those will be coming along with regular(weekkly ) weight updates...
I hope to share my journey with others and learn from them while hopefully motivating other at the same time. I got my motivation form a friend who has recently begun this journey as well.. Wish me luck.. I'll keep you posted.
